Join us in our upcoming 27th year of football in 2010.

So the upcoming 2010 Season will mark our 27th year in the Cowichan Valley playing Women's Football. In 1984 when the league first got its kick-off, it was pretty much a brand new idea. Since then thousands of women across North America, from all walks of life play some kind of football from Touch, Flag, Full Contact, and now the Hybrid known as Women's Football, because it incorporates both touch and flag rules to create a more authentic style of football without the hitting. This year we still have girls who started in 1984 playing this game and contribute their knowledge and skills both on and off the field. This game was originated by women for women and has grown into a great game for young and old, ages start at Sixteen and go into the Fifties, everyone is welcome to try the game all you need are cleats, lots of enthusiasm, a will to do well and work together as a team unit.

As for  Sun Bowl XXV it is a 21 team event once again with 9 teams from Duncan, 5 teams from Victoria, 6 teams from Vancouver and 1 team from Dallas Texas. Will the competition be intense? You can count on it. Every league is sending teams to compete in all three Divisions: Top Flight, Almost Top Flight and Grounded. The Mardi-gras flavour that goes with the tournament is brought on by the theme tents and costumes it is always the weekend to end the season. The US team Adrenaline is coming back with last years star QB  (nick named V) who will be trying to lead her team to the winning circle once again. Competition will come from Cowichan's The Crew, Vancouver's The Saints and Victoria's team the Dragons, and yet it could be any team who gets on the winning edge. So be there June 18th, 19th and 20th to witness some of the best football players in the Pacific Northwest, go head to head on the grid iron of Duncan's McAdam Park
